PRODUCTIONS
Roslyn’s work utilises an unusual performance technique she refers to as audio-scripting or headphone verbatim. Audio-scripting is a paperless form of theatre featuring the faithful reproduction of speech patterns and field recordings. The technique requires actors to wear headphones throughout the performance, via which they are fed a carefully edited audio-script constructed entirely from documentary interview and sound recordings.
Roslyn is currently in the research & development phase of a new work titled, I’m Your Man. This project is being kindly funded by Company B’s B Sharp creative development program and its partnership with the Macquarie Group Foundation; the Australian Government through the Australian Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body; BYDS, Bankstown City Council and Playwriting Australia.

I’M YOUR MAN (currently in development)
Armed with her trusty audio-recorder, director Roslyn Oades follows a high-profile professional boxer through his preparation for a world title fight. Along the way she encounters the many colourful boxing personalities that frequent the gym.
A sweaty, energy-fuelled study of a contemporary masculine drama, I’m Your Man will situate the audience in the moment, at the centre of the action.

Presentations:
Roslyn is available for artist talks / presentations on her productions and the particular strategies she employs in her creative process. In 2009 she was commissioned by the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney to devise a presentation on Stories of Love & Hate. The result was an engaging part lecture / part performance (in collaboration with 3 cast members) that has gone on to generate a life of its own, receiving invitations for repeat presentations at a variety of festivals, conferences, universities and theatres around Australia. Roslyn also runs theatre making workshops for actors and directors.
